General

What is FeedShots?

FeedShots turns public posts on X into clean images. Paste a link, pick a style and download, or let your agent do it through the REST API and MCP.

Is FeedShots free?

Yes, while it’s invite-only.

How do I get an invite?

Ask through the contact form and tell us what you’ll use FeedShots for. Once your email is on the list, sign in with a 6-digit code we email you.

Is FeedShots part of X?

No. FeedShots is an independent service and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by X Corp.

Images

Which posts work?

Public posts from x.com and twitter.com. Posts from protected accounts and deleted posts can’t be loaded: you’ll see an error instead of an image.

Which formats can I download?

JPEG by default and PNG when you need a transparent background. Every format comes at 2× or 4×.

What can I change in the look?

Background, padding, corners, light or dark theme, aspect ratio, metrics, views, date and the X logo. Save a style as your default and the editor, the API and MCP all use it.

Can I edit the text of a post?

No. The author and the text come exactly as they are on X. A translation is always marked “Translated from …”: by default it goes under the original text, and with Translation only it takes the original’s place on the image.

Translation

Can FeedShots translate a post?

Yes. Turn on Translate in the editor, thread or bulk panel and pick a language. By default a machine translation goes under the original text, marked “Translated from English”. Choose Translation only to show just the translation, still marked; the link to the post on X stays on the card. You can’t edit a translation by hand, but Translate again asks for a fresh one.

Which languages can I translate into?

About 80: type a name or a code, like Italian or it. Set a default language on the Style page and the API and MCP translate into it on their own. The editor shows a ready translation right away and asks before making a new one. To get the original for one request, pass tr=off to the API or translate_to: "off" to MCP.

Is there a limit on translations?

Yes, 100 translations a day per person. Posts longer than 1,000 characters, quote included, aren’t translated. A post someone translated into the same language within the last hour comes from the cache and doesn’t count. The limit renews at 00:00 UTC.

Threads and bulk

Can I make images of a whole thread?

Yes. On the Thread tab choose One image for the whole thread in one tall picture, or Split for one image per post in a ZIP. Post numbers like “2 / 7” are optional. FeedShots shows up to 30 posts per thread: a longer thread shows its first 30, and FeedShots tells you it’s cut.

Can I capture several posts at once?

Yes, up to 10 links on the Bulk tab. Hide the ones you don’t need and download the rest as a ZIP.

Can I save a thread as a PDF?

Yes, a thread, a bulk set or a single post: open the PDF tab in the editor. It prints the same styled cards as Image, one post per A4 or Letter page, and the text stays selectable and searchable. Your theme, background and metrics carry over, with an optional link to the original under each card. The PDF keeps the original language. For a thread there’s also Copy Markdown.

API and MCP

How do I use the REST API?

Create a key on the API keys page and send it as a Bearer token to /api/v1/screenshot/{post-id}. Any parameter you skip comes from your saved style.

How do I connect my AI agent?

Add the FeedShots MCP server with your key. Your agent gets screenshot_tweet, screenshot_thread and get_tweet.

How long do download links work?

24 hours, or until you revoke the key that made them. After that, request the image again.

What does a 429 error mean?

429: your key sent too many requests. The response comes with a Retry-After header: wait that many seconds and try again.

Account and privacy

What do you store about me?

Your email, your saved style, your API keys (only a hash of each key), the posts you made images of and usage counts. The Privacy policy has the details.

Who can see my history?

Only you. Your history lists the posts you made images of, so you can open them again.

How do I delete my account?

Write to us through the contact form. We remove your email from the invite list, which signs you out and deletes your keys, style and history.

Still have a question?

Bugs, ideas and invite requests go through the same form. We reply by email.
